To start off, a basic mechanical test to ensure your engine is in good order. This test removes the spark plugs and includes an industry standard cranking compression test with a high quality test device. A common issue with aged Subaru Turbo platforms are the fuel lines located under the intake manifold. The most common car is the 2002-2005 WRX. However all Subaru models other than direct injection cars may require this service as they age. The manufacturer configuration has a combination of hard pipes and short sections of rubber hose connecting them together. Over time, heat and expansion cause the rubber to deteriorate, and eventually leak fuel. While not a large leak, or one that would leave anything you would notice on the ground for example. The fuel vapors are very bothersome, and are especially noticeable at low temperatures, or just after the car is started. This service removes the intake manifold from the car, includes disassembly and replacement of the rubber fuel hoses and other needed parts, and installation into the car.
Includes (2.1hrs) labor and gasket kit (example 2010 STi)
If they’re just old and crusty, lets change them out to stop oil leaks, fumes, and smells. Your engine stays cleaner, and a cleaner engine stays cooler. 2002-2005 2.0L WRX’s and earlier JDM engines unfortunately have a few more parts to buy for this job than 2.5L WRX’s or STi’s. We highly recommend the oil be changed with this service.
